Save My Babies!

Yesterday, I saw a Link shared by the Southampton Reptile Centre (on my Facebook newfeed) that said something about their animals being 'seized and destroyed'.

Immediately that grabs anyone's attention!

So after a checking out the link, I learnt it's a petition to prevent some campaigners in the UK from changing the law on owning exotic animals.

Now as I previously mentioned I own Reptiles - I have 2 Bearded Dragons and 1 Corn Snake.

I am not stupid. So I know that those animals are not everyone's 'cup of tea' and that many of my friends think they're... weird...

My parents and in laws aren't massively keen. (Except my hubby's step dad who actually loves them!)

They are my babies.
My children.
I love them.

I have raised both my dragons since they were 6 and 12 weeks old. And the snake I took on from a friend who could no longer keep him. (Personal reasons - don't judge.)

I am angry and extremely upset that some power crazy, ignorant butt-head is trying to take away our right to keep exotic pets.

The word "Exotic" doesn't just refer to lizards and snakes. It also refers to cute little tortoises, chinchillas, invertebrates, most birds and some fish too.

It actually covers a huge range of very popular and amazing animals that we've kept as pets for years!
So please, if you see this petition circling around your Facebook newsfeed or twitter or anywhere else... I'll even link it here!

It may not cover cats and dogs, but imagine how you'd feel if the law changed again to include them.

Save My Babies.
Coco - Male bearded dragon, 14 months old.
Gimli - female bearded dragon, 2.5 years old
Tybalt- male corn snake, 2.5 years old

Peace out ✌
